The passion that has always characterised us has given us the desire to be even greater.
In 2016 we implemented a new technology, Hot Charging, to conserve the heat of the hot billets from the caster.
The heat conservation is easily illustrated and allows the billets to be placed in “thermo boxes” after the casting process and thereafter transported to the rolling mill.
The effect is an increasing charging temperature from 400 to 800 °C in the rolling mill as well as a yearly reduction of energy consumption by 30 GWh.
Moreover, this corresponds to a yearly reduction in consumption of oil of 2,9 million liters and a yearly reduction in CO2 emissions by 8 000 tons.
